A mobile healthcare practitioner visiting patients across five facilities was spending meaningful time before every visit manually cross-referencing patient records against facility census data. We automated it entirely.

Challenge
Patient history lived across multiple manually-entered spreadsheets with inconsistent formatting. Facility census exports had duplicate rows and mixed record types. Getting a clean priority list out of these two sources required real data engineering before any output logic could run.
Approach
Built a cross-reference engine matching patient history against live facility census data — with tolerance for name variations and formatting inconsistencies — producing a prioritized visit list by facility. Wrapped in a Google Apps Script automation triggerable by office staff in under 30 seconds.
Results
- Manual pre-visit prep replaced with a 30-second automated report run
- Five facilities unified into one cross-referenced view with per-facility output pages
- Workflow fully delegable — office staff can trigger and email the report with no technical knowledge
- Data validation rules added to prevent the formatting errors that made automation impossible before
